Gungguan Plant

 

The bulk of our missionary force (four couples) are now living and ministering in the small Hakka Chinese town of Gungguan. Having lived in this unreached - and very traditional - location for under a year now, the team is still in the initial stages of planting a church there.

What does this mean?

Lots of evangelism and loads of intercession. (And vice versa just for variety's sake.) The team members are out in the community on a daily basis making friends and planting seeds of the gospel in the hearts of the local Hakkas. This involves everything from teaching English to operating a booth at the night market … from running baking classes to playing basketball … from holding evangelistic "Tea Parties" to prayer-walking every street and alley they can find. And even now - after such a short time - a thirst for things of God seems to be on the rise among the Hakkas of Gungguan, and many are starting to express an interest in following "the Way, the Truth, and the Life."
